Dun Maus creates 3D models, high-resolution image renders, videos, animations, apps and more to help preserve historic buildings, landmarks, and artefacts. Explore new and exciting methods to present history in a fun and interactive way, creating new perspectives and carrying our heritage into the future.
All too often, little remains of once great and impressive structures. Weather, wars, natural disasters, and the ever-changing needs of humanity have had a massive effect on many of our historic sites.
With the help of modern 3D technology, we can not only preserve our heritage sites for future ages, but even re-create what was lost to the wearing of time.
Whether it’s castles, manors, monuments, or other historical structures or items, I can re-create them as 3D models which can be used to produce image or videos renders. They can also be directly integrated on websites, in apps, or even video games. The possibilities are endless.
Using historical drawings, written reports, topographic maps, and photographs, I craft models that are not only historically accurate and authentic, but which can also be seamlessly integrated into 3D viewers or game engines to create augmented/virtual reality experiences or interactive tours.
My name is Elija J. Maus and I combine a degree in Modern History and Art History (with focus on historic architecture) with over 6 years experience in the gaming industry to create detailed and authentic re-creations of historical structures.
I always try to find new ways to encourage people to interact with history and to see it as so much more than dusty books and old rocks. I am proud to do my part in preserving our heritage and history, not only with my work, but also in my role as a trustee for Carrick History Society.
